These 10 women-owned businesses thrive with outsourced talent

Did you know more than 1,200 women launch businesses every day? And, they employ 7.9 million workers and generate over $1.4 trillion in revenue, annually. That’s a LOT of money! But what’s more impressive is the number of military spouses leading the force. They’re thriving with help from hundreds of women and men stationed around the world. Mostly through outsourced work. So, in honor of Women’s History Month, we’re celebrating ten women-owned businesses. All ten are trailblazers in outsourcing to military spouses with mad skills. An untapped network of professionals helping each of these companies achieve success.

Kallie & Co. is a not-just-for-profit women’s online boutique. Their mission is to provide trendy, cruelty-free, and ethically made products that never sacrifice style. Nadia outsources to a remote business manager to assist with her day-to-day operations.

Lindsey Germono, Founder of Germono Advertising Company

Germono Advertising Company specializes in traditional media planning, purchasing, and management for businesses in Hampton Roads Virginia. They also offer marketing coaching sessions to businesses of all sizes located over the world. Lindsey works with a brand associate and a senior marketing coach. Both work remotely helping Lindsey with marketing creation and distribution for multiple clients.

Jennifer Pilcher, Founder of MilitaryOneClick

MilitaryOneClick seeks to enhance the lives of service members and their families. They do this by connecting their audience to the latest in career tools, educational opportunities, and financial assistance. Jen founded MilitaryOneClick on an all-remote philosophy. She started with one virtual business administrator and an outsourced web developer. Over six years, she added 10 full and part-time contractors to team MOC. Team members are located in all time zones and specialize in social media management, events, partnerships, and blogging.   

Adrianna Domingos-Lupher, Founder of MSB New Media and NextGen MilSpouse

Adrianna assembles teams of freelance writers, bloggers, and editors to produce content on behalf of top consumer, retail, and lifestyle brands.

NextGen MilSpouse is MSB New Media’s online magazine. It’s a go-to web resource for millennial military spouses designed to help spouses everywhere find community and navigate military life. Adrianna outsources to an editor and countless bloggers to assist with all social and digital publications.

Krystel Spell, Founder of SoFluential

SoFluential is a digital publishing, marketing, and communications agency founded and powered by influencers who understand the value of authentic, unique niche voices. They specialize in influencer campaigns. Krystel outsources to 500+ bloggers and influencers to promote brand awareness for her clients.

Diana Jaquith, Founder of Wise Advise + Assist Team 

Wise Advise + Assist Team helps businesses thrive. Diana’s team of 20 military spouses offers companies the opportunity to outsource all their needs with qualified professionals including bookkeepers, graphic designers, web developers, content writers, and more.

Kathy Roth-Douquet, Founder of Blue Star Families

Blue Star Families assists military families through career development, caregiving, and research.  They strive to better understand and provide solutions to the challenges facing today’s military families.  What started as a small group of military spouses has grown to 150,000 members and 35 community chapters. They are powered by a mostly all-remote team of 50 volunteers, 29 staff members, and 12 contractors. Their mad skills include content creators, digital educators, web developers, customer support, and more.

Janine Boldrin & Amy Crispino, Co-Founders of Chameleon Kids, publisher of MILITARY KIDS’ LIFE

MILITARY KIDS’ LIFE, is a quarterly award-winning print magazine for kids published by Chameleon Kids. Military Kids’ Life encourages the bright side of military life by focusing on the fun of growing up military. Janine and Amy outsource to freelance web developers, bloggers, web developers, graphic designers, and photographers. Additionally, they’ve contracted with approximately 35 freelance writers, five to six per issue, for nine publications so far. Currently, they are seeking a remote relationship manager.

Lisa Bradley & Cameron Cruse, Co-Founders of R. Riveter

R. Riveter is an American handbag company. Their mission is to provide mobile, flexible income. Each bag is handmade by a military spouse riveter. Their remote team consists of approximately 30 people who assist with production, design, human resources, bookkeeping, and marketing.

Erica McMannes & Liza Rodewald, Co-Founders of Hire MadSkills
